We were joined today by our guest Avalanche Forecaster "Graeme Moss" who drove all the way over from Lochaber. He enjoyed some of our delights by taking in a few turns down the South-East side of Cairngorm on spring snow.

Firm snowpack


The snowpack is pretty firm with areas of blue ice - reasonable cover remains at plateau level as can be seen in this photo looking across Coire Raibert to Coire an T Sneachda and Ben MacDuibh beyond

The great slab Lochain

This happened sometime around Friday/Saturday during the mild temperatures.

The great slab quite often takes a slide in May but this year its early due to the monsoon conditions we have been experiencing lately.

Strong wind and rain cleared
